ABOUT
Miles from Mansfield is the solo singer-songwriter project of Marc Halterman. With a background in vocal performance and musical theater, Marc studied music theory, learned guitar and piano, and was consistently involved in collaborative music projects. While attending the University of Vermont, he performed with the TopCats a cappella group, wrote originals at the house on Mansfield Avenue, and played gigs around Burlington. His time on Mansfield Avenue marked a period of creative growth that laid the foundation for future projects.
Over the next several years, Halterman co-wrote, performed on, and co-produced three albums, including Moving Footprints (recorded in Bethel, VT and Mawah, NJ), Walkabout (recorded in Potomac, MD), and October (recorded in Penfield, NY).
After completing graduate training at the University of Rochester, he formed the group Mansfield Avenue as an homage to his Vermont songwriting days. From 2009 to 2017, Mansfield Ave performed over 150 shows across public and private venues, including the Rochester Fringe Festival. Configurations ranged from an acoustic duo and trio to a five-piece rock group.
Now performing solo as Miles from Mansfield, Halterman continues to write and perform original songs and covers inspired by the people and places that shaped his sound.
